Most of us are only scratching the surface of our own potential.
uncharted exists for people who've already proven they can do hard things — in sport and in life — and are curious what's still on the table. Not a program that hands you a plan and walks away, but a coached exploration of your own ceiling, built around the life you actually live.
The territory is different for everyone. An age-grouper chasing a breakthrough season. A high performer who's stopped feeling fulfilled outside of work. Same mission, two different maps.

Most of us are only scratching the surface of our own potential.
The mission
Danie is a strong believer in that idea — and he's on a mission to discover his own, still competing as a top age grouper. He fell for triathlon the moment he finished his first full Ironman, and qualified for Kona just three years later while still relatively new to the sport. The same drive carried over from competitive tennis, which he played as a junior at national level in South Africa, and has shaped his sporting life and career alike.
The coaching background
20+ years coaching across disciplines — starting as a professional tennis coach, moving through other sports, then into executive, leadership, and entrepreneurial business coaching. He continues studying psychology, neuroscience, and high performance alongside the coaching itself, so he can work with the "hard" and "softer" sides of performance and coach the whole person, not just the numbers.
Outside of coaching
Vice President of a global organisation, accountable for the P&L of a commercial business with teams across multiple regions and a busy international travel schedule. He started as an entrepreneur, building and selling one of South Africa's leading tennis academies before moving into corporate and management consulting.
Whether it's a start line, a stalled career, or a business that's plateaued — the process is the same: an honest look at where you are, and a coach who won't let you settle for "good enough".

the distance within
You already know how to finish a race. What you don't know yet is how far you could actually go.
Most age-group athletes plateau not because they've hit their ceiling, but because nobody's asked them to find out where it really is. uncharted coaching exists for the athlete who has done the Ironmans, hit the qualifying times, and still wants to know — with real structure, real data, and real accountability — what the next level actually looks like.
This isn't about chasing someone else's PB. It's a coached exploration of your own potential, built around your job, your life, and a start line you chose on purpose.
Built for the age-grouper who's stopped settling for finishing.
High performers with a day job
You're already disciplined at work. You want a program that respects that, not one that assumes triathlon is your only responsibility.
Proven, but not satisfied
You've qualified, you've podiumed in your age group, or you've simply finished strong — and you're curious what's still left on the table.
Willing to be coached, not just trained
You want a second set of eyes that will tell you the truth, adjust the plan when life happens, and hold you to the standard you set for yourself.
Going all in on your first full
You've decided on your first full Ironman and you're not interested in just surviving it — full commitment, from a standing start, to find out what you're made of.

the approach
A coached program, not a plan you're handed.
01
Start with an honest assessment
Current fitness, race history, and the real constraints of your life — before a single session gets written.
02
Build the season around one target
One A-race, reverse-engineered into a training block that actually fits the weeks you have to work with.
03
Adjust in real time
Direct access for check-ins, plan changes, and the inevitable week that doesn't go as planned.
04
Review, then go again
Every block ends with a clear look at what moved the needle, so the next one starts from further along than the last.
what athletes say
Real athletes, real breakthroughs.
"I've worked with Danie over the last 12 months to help me build my training up towards my first full Ironman. Danie pushed me beyond what I thought my triathlon potential was, and I had a breakthrough Ironman debut that led to a Kona World Championships qualification. His ability to work collaboratively and fit training around my life, while also understanding when to push and when to pull back, has been invaluable."
"I started working with Danie two years ago after a major bike accident that completely knocked my sporting confidence. He never pushed me to get back on the bike before I was ready. Instead, he flipped the narrative and helped me find success in running, historically my weakest discipline.
Danie has completely transformed my weakest discipline into a strength. I've hit major PBs across all distances, including a debut marathon of 3:26, a time I never dreamed I could run.
What stands out most is how adaptable he is. He never sticks rigidly to a plan for the sake of it, he reads how I'm doing and adjusts, whether that's dialing things back after a bad week or changing direction completely when something isn't working. That's exactly how he handled my confidence after the accident, and it's why I've been able to keep progressing without burning out or getting hurt again.
It's not just my own success I've experienced either. I've had a front-row seat to watch him do the same for my best friend, turning her into an Ironman athlete who qualified for Kona on her first attempt.
But beyond the results, Danie is a friend first. He always makes time to listen, whether it's about training or just life. He shows up with a smile, every time.
I'd recommend Danie to anyone who's committed, because he's just as invested in your success as you are."

uncharted takes on a limited number of athletes each season. If you're curious whether coaching is the right next step, start with a conversation.
Succeeding on paper and feeling like you're only scratching the surface can both be true at once.
You've built a career, a reputation, a life that looks like it's working. But somewhere underneath the achievements is a question you haven't let yourself sit with: is this actually as far as I go? uncharted life coaching is for the high performer who wants the same rigour they bring to work applied to their own direction, health, and fulfilment.
Not a retreat from your ambition — a coached way of pointing it somewhere that actually satisfies you.
Built for the high performer who wants more than "fine".
Successful, but unfulfilled
The career is going well. Something else isn't — and you can't quite name what, or you haven't had the space to figure it out.
Stuck at the next level
You know there's a version of your life with more energy, clarity, and purpose in it. You just haven't found the way there on your own.
Time-scarce, not motivation-scarce
You don't need convincing to put in the work. You need a structure that fits around a demanding career, not one more thing competing with it.
why danie coaches life
The road so far.
Coaching from lived experience, not just theory — a life that's had its own long course, its own plateaus, and its own unexpected turns.

"Not good enough" — a quiet belief that took root early, despite how well things looked from the outside.
16
Dropped out of school to chase a tennis dream.
22
Pivoted from playing to building — founded a tennis academy.
26
Got married.
28
Built and sold the academy — proud, but still comparing himself to "the best".
Early 30s
A second business failed. Pivoted into a corporate career.
Mid-30s
Wanted to start a family. Life had other plans.
Mid-30s
Studied an MBA part-time, on top of a demanding full-time job.
Late 30s
Climbing further in corporate — still anxious and restless underneath it.
Early 40s
New heights reached, and still sensing something was missing.
42

43
Reconnected with himself. The storm within began to calm.
44
Fell back in love — with life, and with himself.
44–45
Rebuilt a life in London, grounded in real connection and community.

the approach
A systemic, whole-person process — not a quick fix.
01
Take stock, honestly
Where you actually are across career, health, relationships, and purpose — not just the parts that are easy to talk about.
02
Define what "further" means to you
Not someone else's version of success — a direction that's actually yours, tested against what you say you want.
03
Build the habits that hold under pressure
Systems that survive a bad week at work, not ones that only function when life is calm.
04
Check in, recalibrate, keep going
Regular coaching sessions to hold the standard, adjust the plan, and keep moving toward what you actually want.
what clients say
Trusted by leaders navigating real change.
"Danie brought a structured and clear approach to the Zambian business in terms of marketing and customer focus. His systematic thinking and clear communication style guided the team through the ambiguity of working in the FMCG sector — this was a totally new concept for the Zambian team. In addition to this, Danie's emotional intelligence and ability to read people will bring a great contribution to any organisation. Danie assisted me in working through key issues within a new, high-level leadership team, which was critical to the success of this business. I can describe Danie as level-headed, energetic, structured, and able to deal with multiple personalities and ambiguous situations."
"Danie is a change expert who assisted me in delivering the change programme related to system changes to our clients in the mining industry. Danie is pro-active, a good communicator, with a passion for his work and the people he works with. I would work with Danie at any given opportunity!"
